Not again!
Unbelievably, so soon after Sammy, I had to take his mother Bella to the emergency vets just after midnight. She had had a stroke and the prognosis was poor. So sadly, I said goodbye to her in the early hours. My plan for today had been crafting but that hasn't worked out too well as yet. I am a bit bleary eyed, having not got to bed until 2:50am and then up at 8:30am as I am on Duty! I will be playing later however, as I got my T!m Holtz Limited Edition, Winter Season Distress Inks on Friday and want to have a play with them and some embossing plates for Christmas. Got a couple more people now asking about getting cards made, so if I can recoup a little bit of the amount I have spent, that would be good! I will post pics of this weekends experiments later.......

Random burbles
Well, since I was last on: I have joined a card swap group and just sent second month. First one the theme was Autumn including Halloween - have to say that the card was one of my favourites to date. Month just gone was Red/White/Black (no metallics). I have also been busy making akita themed charity Christmas cards for my two akita charities - www.friendsofakitas.co.uk and www.jawt.co.uk
Excitingly, I have also sold my first two non charity cards! Furthermore, I have an order in for a 60th! So finally, I might get a little bit back of the thousands I have spent lol!

Sad day
Sad day today, as I have had to have one of my cats put to sleep. Sammy had been with me for over 6 years, having taken him and his mum and sister in when their owner moved into sheltered accommodation. He had kidney disease and the prognosis was not good so I took the (hard) decision that prolonging his life would have been for my benefit not his. Ironically, my first Bookatrix card was a sympathy card for a friend on the demise of her cat, earlier this year. Non pet owners often trivialise the grief we feel so I have made some cards for people who want to express sympathy at the loss of a dog or cat ( as there is not much out there).

Learning to Blog
Well here I am, in Blogspace. Always a bit late to catch up with technology! Although this blog will primarily feature cards I make, I warn you all now that I am also addicted to reading and heavily involved in akita rescue so they may crop up from time to time!
